Pain Management Provider
Anthony Kirby, MD
Meet Dr. Anthony Kirby
Dr. Anthony Kirby, MD, brings a compassionate, individualized approach to Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also known as physiatry. His background as a Registered Nurse shaped his approach to patient care, emphasizing the importance of treating the whole person with dignity, respect, and a touch of humor.
Dr. Kirby pursued medical school specifically to study physiatry, building on his nursing experience and interest in anatomy and neuromuscular function—the way nerves and muscles work together. Incorporating interventional procedures into his practice was a natural progression, allowing him to connect his understanding of these conditions with treatments tailored to each patient.
Dr. Kirby earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Cleveland State University and attended medical school at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. He completed his internship at Cleveland Clinic, followed by residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Sinai Hospital, University of Maryland, in Baltimore.
Since beginning medical practice in 2009, Dr. Kirby has served communities throughout the southern Greater Pittsburgh area. He combines a nurse’s perspective with a physician’s expertise to provide thoughtful, personalized care.
